« After the satisfaction obtained with the EStrato5ter (https://www.mydreampartcaster.com/en/stock.html?#st148) I approached Pierre and Michel to make a second version of the guitar this time inspired by the legendary Gibson ES-5 Switchmaster. The guitar is a beauty. Michel's sunburst finish is gorgeous.
For the pickups I chose the wonderful reproductions of P.A.F. humbuckers by Throbak (MC 102B for neck and bridge and SLE 101 for middle position)
Six controls (three for volume and 3 for tone, one of which allows us the possibility of reversing the phase of the middle pickup) and a 3B3-01 Freeway switch give us an incredible palette of sounds. The Throbaks take you to midrange heaven with a wonderful vintage 40s-50s sound.
I have to highlight that what I enjoyed most about the process was the interaction with Pierre to try to materialize what I had in my mind into a real wiring diagram. I couldn't be more satisfied with the result.
Finally, there was a problem with the shipping of the guitar which Pierre was able to handle quickly and efficiently. In short, I have the guitar of my dreams at a more than reasonable price and one that I will surely enjoy for years to come. My third guitar with these guys in less than a year... will it be the last?

Three P13 pickups (predecessor of the P90 included in the ES-5) courtesy of Curtis Novak. Like the first version of the ES-5, the circuit contains a volume control for each pickup and a master tone control so you can blend the three pickups and obtain lots of nice sounds. As a bonus, the tone control is push-pull to put the middle pickup out of phase. The P13 sounds darker but with more bite than the P90. This axe is ideal for jump blues, classic blues and primitive R&B. In out of phase you enter the sonic territory of T-Bone Walker and Lowell Fulsom.
In conclusion, the guitar is ideal for sounds from the 40s-50s with the playability of a Stratocaster.

Since sometime I had in mind a project for the luthier that usually builds my guitars.
But after a chat with Pierre I decided to try the project with MyDream:building 2 identical (color aside) strats with custom made short scale necks, one of which scalloped. Bodies routed to host any pickup combination. Six special pickguards engineered for quick pickup swapping.And as a cherry both guitars had to be reliced.
I changed my mind quite a few times during the weeks it took to build the two guitars, but Pierre was extremely patient throughout all the project.
He also had to do research and extensive testing to reach the perfect pickguards I needed.
The result beat my expectations. Both guitars are vibrant and beautiful. The pickups that came with them range from beautiful to spectacularNeck are perfectly finished and in general the woods don't give that unripe feeling I often get from modern guitars.
I was treated like a VIP, making the price of the guitar absolutely fair.
